Thought for the day

Twenty-seven identical white cubes are assembled into a single cube, the outside of which is painted black. The cube is then disassembled and the smaller cubes thoroughly shuffled in a bag. A blindfolded man (who cannot feel the paint) reassembles the pieces into a cube. What is the probability that the outside of this cube is completely black?

    surely it must be an impossibility, as the cubes would be 3x3x3 configuration when the outside was painted. Not one of the constituent cubes would be all black although one would be all white?

  2. OOps I just read your post again. I did not read it properly first time around so my answer will make no sense. Please ignore it! The probability of him reassembling the cube in it's original all black form? I wouldn't even know how to start working that out.....

    but I am interested in the answer!
